New In This Release
We have introduced a new kind of Attribute, a Signature Attribute. Now, if you need to capture a signature as part of your process, we support that. The Signature Attribute does has some unique properties:
- Signatures can only be provided from the Nrby mobile apps. Signatures can not be provided through the Nrby portal.
- Once the Nrby portal has a signature value for an attribute, it may not be overwritten for that SmartPin.
- When the SmartPin details are printed from the Portal, the Signature will be printed.
- When the SmartPin details are emailed or in a report, ‘Signature on File’ will be displayed instead of the actual signature.
First, you need to create a Signature Attribute (you’ll notice we updated the Attribute editor as
If you want the Signature to persist to other types of SmartPins in the workflow of the SmartPin, choose Persist. Otherwise, the Signature will be cleared with each SmartPin state change, allowing for new signatures for every state. The Required choices work exactly as before. Signature attributes can not have a Default Value, Options, or be a Parent Identifier.
Once the Signature Attribute is created, use it in a SmartPin workflow. Signatures may be used as stand-alone attributes or in Attribute Groups.
When you create a new SmartPin from the portal, there will be a field present for every signature attribute, but there is no way to provide a signature from the Nrby Desktop. Signatures must be provided from the Nrby mobile apps.
Signature Attributes with signature values are displayed in the Nrby Desktop. If a signature attribute does not have a signature value yet, ‘No signature on file’ is displayed by the desktop.
When emails are sent or SmartPins are viewed through the SmartPin by Age report, if the Signature Attribute has a value, ‘Signature on file’ is displayed. Signature attributes without values are displayed as empty in the system emails.

Attributes History Report
The Attribute History report used to have an internal limit of 100 for the number of SmartPins that could be reported on and exported to CSV. That limit has been removed. To export all Attribute Histories for all SmartPins matching your search to a CSV file, just tap the Export All Table Data button.
Sending Messages to Circular Area
Nrby has long had the ability to send an ad-hoc message to all Nrby mobile devices for your account by specifying a circular area, an app role, and/or a jurisdiction. The ability to send a message to a circular area was not working. We fixed that.
