Custom Enter/Exit Sounds for SmartPin Geofences
SmartPin definitions can now have custom sounds for geofence enter and exit events. Each type of SmartPin can have its own unique enter sound and its own unique exit sound now, giving the Nrby app user an audible cue or additional information about the type of SmartPin geofence that was just traversed.
These sounds are defined and uploaded in the editor for the SmartPin definition. They can be previewed there as well to ensure the correct sound was uploaded.
Currently, only MP3 sound files are supported for maximum cross-platform compatibility.
The configured sounds are displayed on the read only page for the SmartPin definition.
The sounds can be uploaded and cleared on the edit page for the SmartPin definition.
When the SmartPin has a geofence and the Alert? checkbox is true, future releases of the mobile apps will play the configured sound when the app detects a geofence enter event or a geofence exit event.
If a custom sound is not configured for a type of SmartPin, the system default sound will play instead.
Show/Hide Jurisdiction Lines
In the screenshot below, you can see one of our test systems with a number of Jurisdictions defined. Notice that in the upper right corner, there is a new Settings gear. When that gear is clicked, we display the ability to show or hide the lines for these Jurisdictions. First, the Jurisdiction lines are on. When the Jurisdiction lines are on, the middle menu bar contains the option to create a New Jurisdiction.
The show/hide setting is persisted in the browser session information. If the browser cache is cleared, the setting will be lost and default to Show Jurisdiction Lines. If the browser is killed and a new session is started, or an Anonymous/Incognito window is used, or a different browser is used, the setting will default to Show Jurisdiction Lines.
Now, they are off. And there is no option to create a new Jurisdiction since you would not be able to see the line for the jurisdiction.
We’ve updated the look of the dialog the Draw or Import a new Jurisdiction.
After the Jurisdiction is drawn or imported, it must still be named.
Once visible on the map, the jurisdiction can be right-clicked on to display the Edit/Delete menu. This is analogous to right clicking on a SmartPin to display the context menu.
At times, if Jurisdictions overlap each other, it may be necessary to filter the dashboard to display only the jurisdiction you are interested in in order to be able to right click on it for the context menu.

Changed the font of the Invitation Token
When you first sign-in to Nrby, you are asked to enter an invitation token that is obtained by clicking on a button in an invitation email. The font used to display that invitation token made it difficult to differentiate between lower case ‘L’, the number one, uppercase ‘I’, zero, and capital ‘O’. Most users cut and paste the invitation token by following the directions on the web page, but every once in a while, someone will need to type in the token by hand. So we changed the font to make the invitation token more readable.
