New Settings Navigation in Dashboard
In preparation for some upcoming UI improvements we will be making, we needed to re-engineer the Settings area on the dashboard. All of the same functionality exists, we just moved it around a little bit and made it look a little more updated.
Updated Message Contents for System Messages
Messages received on the phone used to be really useful and informative to our engineering team, but our customers found them hard to make sense of. So we remove the GUID SmartPin ID from our messages and restructured them a little bit. Now they read as such:
subject = "A Low Hanging Wire SmartPin you are watching has been updated"; body = "The Low Hanging Wire SmartPin at 20 Cotton Rd, Nashua, NH, 03063, United States has been updated by email@example.com";
Support for Contractor Relationships
We started the work to support a Company having a relationship with a Contract so they can share SmartPin definitions and SmartPin instances. If you’re interested in learning more about this feature (which must be enabled by our crack customer support team here), please use the information below to contact our support team.
Fixed In This Release
Filtering Fixed for Overlapping Jurisdictions
We had a bug in the system where if a SmartPin was placed in the intersection (or overlap) of two or more jurisdictions, when you tried to filter the dashboard by jurisdictions, the SmartPin was never visible.
We fixed that. Now if the SmartPin lives in both Jurisdiction A and B, you can filter by A and see the SmartPin. You can filter by B and see the SmartPin, and you can filter by A and B and see the SmartPin.
Tables Retain Pagination When Navigate Away and Back
When you have configured a lot of SmartPins or Attributes, we list them in paginated tables. And if you ever navigated away from the table and back to the table, you would have to restart at page 1 all over again. That got annoying, especially as customers began to configure more and more SmartPins and more and more Attributes. So now when you navigate away from a table and back to the table, the pagination is remembered and restored and you pick up right where you left off.
Other bug fixes
We fixed a number of other less visible bugs in the system as well. Some of them were around how we deal with historic Attribute values. We added some information to the Message JSON in our API.
